Advanced Traction Optimization

plaatje dynamische aslastverdeling.PNGOver the past few months, D-TEC has successfully completed a test of a system whereby the wheel basis is dynamically influenced. This system is now optionally available for all new S-line container trailers produced by D-TEC.

On the basis of this system, the maximum dish pressure is sought for maximum traction of the driven axle in all cases.
A normal automatic lifting axle system on the 1st axle will lower the 1st axle as soon as 2 and 3 are overloaded, at 18 ton. When axle 1 is on the ground, the dish pressure will immediately be a lot lower, while the trailer''''s axles are only loaded for about 70%.

Het Advanced Traction Optimization system is going to optimize this. When, for instance, there is a load of 19 ton on the bogie, the ATO system will minimise the axle pressure to 1 ton, so that axles 2 and 3 together carry 18 ton. This hardly reduces the dish pressure, but the axle load is nevertheless not exceeded. The system is in fact an advanced, automatic axle lifting system, which not only puts the lifting axle on the ground, but also makes the axle load of axle 1 fully adjustable, in such a way that axle 1 carries a minimum load and the load goes to the dish, and therefore to the driven axle, as much as possible.
This allows for an increase in dish pressure up to 30%. The ATO system works permanently, so it is not speed dependent.
