Van
Driel Transport from Bergambacht, with
branches in Fußgönheim (near Ludwigshafen) and Pétange (Luxemburg), has
expanded its fleet to include 27 D-TEC container
trailers. “We have been using D-TEC
for years due to its solid construction, which is ideal for our tank container
transportation, says Owner/Director Kees van Driel. His
company falls under EKB Container Logistik of Bremen. EKB specialises in one-way
transportation of sea-containers and tank containers from Le Havre, Antwerp,
Rotterdam, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Hamburg and Gdynia to destinations across all
of Europe.
Kees van
Driel: ‘When we started our transportation department in 1999, we went to D-TEC
to talk about what we needed. We called for the strongest construction for the incredibly high force than can be
exerted when, for example, tank containers brake as they are partly
loaded with fluids. The vital mid-section (20 ft central), which has a drip
tray and the option to store loose hoses in the chassis, is what makes the
trailers complete. Moreover, the D-TEC Flexitrailers are multifunctional, as we
can use them to transport all other
ISO-containers, which
is also important for us.’

Van Driel
Transport’s requirements for D-TEC led to the so-called ‘Van Driel version’.
Later on, we also bought two other brands, as we were in quick need of new chassis
and, at that time, D-TEC was experiencing longer waiting time. However, we soon
noticed that these chassis did not meet our needs. In the meantime, our fleet has
reached 75 cassis, 11 of which are from other brands due to necessity. Next
to Flexitrailers Van Driel has 10 D-TEC Combitrailers in his fleet, that were
set up to our total satisfaction in Germany. “Given the current developments at
D-TEC, we anticipate years of partnership going forward” concludes Kees van
Driel.
