Tank trailer unloaded in 3 minutes thanks to D-TEC innovation

Wednesday, October 2, 2013 KESTEREN – Short loading and unloading times are becoming increasingly important in manure tank transportation. This prompted D-TEC to collaborate with its clients on an innovative tank concept with loading and unloading arms. 'A 30 cubic metre tank trailer can now be unloaded in three minutes! This certainly produces considerable cost savings when transport distances are short because many more trips can be made. Our analysis has revealed that with distances up to 5 kilometres this type of loading and unloading arm can be earned back well within one year', explains general manager Gerrit van Vlastuin. VIDEO: D-TEC has been producing manure trailers for the Dutch market since 1987. Due to the limited space on Dutch farms, steered trailers were a priority from the start. The focus from the very beginning was on a low deadweight, low maintenance costs, high trade-in value and a large degree of continuity in the technical design.
